I had this happen twice recently on a relatively simple DFW-ORD-AZO trip and the last time it happened was when I had AA split a PRN and it dropped one of the main tickets and one of the split. I caught it in time and they fixed both of them. Probably has to do with the ancient computer systems AA uses.
