I'd like to think they probably keep a record of all my complaining so the compliment would offset those so they see I'm not just a crybaby. Not sure if they do that though. I've had some amazing service at AZO and they were pretty quick with a nice thank you letter that didn't seem like a form letter.
Over the (over 60 flying AA) years, I have as well - but the issue as I see it is including a compliment as part of a complaint requesting compensation is more likely to get an agent in a hurry to dispose of such a communication who will process a compensation request and move on.
