4.4 is already out. Might try to update to 4.4 and hopefully it will solve your 'seat' issue. (No problems selecting seats using the android app, 5 PNR's; mix of regular fares and one using certificates)
My phone auto-updates the DL app so it's always on the most recent version available. I also had seat selection the past few days on all PNRs, a few normal paid domestics and one int'l award. Same message as OP.

Last night the app got an update. Says 4.4 but I don't know if it's a new variant of 4.4 or going from 4.3.x to 4.4. Either way, the seat selection issue is now fixed AND seat selection is possible on the A350 (though there still isn't a page for the 350 in the "Fleet" section of the app).

Basically, I'm not sure that an outdated app was the original problem, but it does appear that whatever update went out last night helped fix the problem (at least for me).
