For sure, but there is a difference between a Plat traveling on AY (J class) and a HON traveling on LH (F class).
For the price of one LH F class ticket you can become a Plat on AY - and of course AY don t even offer F class.

But yeah, one should rather compare AY Plat to LH SEN, not to LH HON.
It used to be nice during my SEN years, though, upgrading to LX First, etc, but when they cut earnings in the cheaper C tix (P, Z) it became impossible to maintain. That was one of my reason to come back to OW (BAEC) and when BAEC "improved" the GGL rules I knew it's back to AY+ and direct flights to Asia
