So you think UA's lawyers lack the ability to write precise language that is not open to interpretation? Obviously the intention is to make an exception for pax who need to hand carry rackets since they won't fit in the standard sizer, and there is an expectation of reasonableness on both sides, which broke down because of an over-zealous misanthropic GA.

If this was allowed, it wouldn't be long before we had 15-20 "amateur tennis players" on each flight that would take up all the overhead space before you even got to BG3.
No we wouldn't because the vast majority of people in our society are reasonable and not sociopaths who will try anything they think they can get away with.
