First, I'd ask which of the major programs hasn't had any devaluations over time?
Second, I'd actually say a more accurate statement would be "MR has a history of more limited devaluations than many of their competitor programs...".
Both Hilton and IHG have had much more pronounced devaluations than anything Marriott has done. And from all the complaining I can see in the Hyatt forum, it looks like Hyatt must have come down with a pretty hefty deval recently.
