I got to LAS early and paid the $30 for myself and for the Mrs. after waiting in the huge line at the ticket counter. We got A5 and A6. We prefer the first row at the bulkhead.
After the numerous preboarders, We get on the plane and the right seats in row 1 had 2 people in them. The left only had one person in the window seat. He was one of the A boarding passengers in front of me.
As I put our bags in the overhead my wife went to sit in the middle seat, but this guy had his cellphone in it, I told him that she would like to sit. He protested loudly saying he was saving the seat for his brother. I asked if he brother was onboard or further back in the boarding line. He just repeated that he was saving it for his brother. The FA then said that passengers were free to sit in any open seat.
This guy gets up with a huff and goes to row 4. As I put the last of our bags in the overhead bin this guy starts yelling that he has a word for me and several other comments. I replied not very nicely and people started telling him to stop. He kept yelling prompting people in several rows to say that it needs to stop.
After I sat down, this guys brother finally boards, he had to be in the High A group. I heard him asking why he wasnt in the bulkhead row.
Before you start yelling at me, we paid the extra money to try to get the bulkhead row, this guy could have done the exact same thing and purchased the priority boarding, but chose to get that perk for free by having a seat saved for him. Alternatively they could have boarded together on the higher boarding number.
Had we not got to the airport early and paid the extra money I probably would not have been as firm as I was. When they guy was telling me flat out the seat was saved for his brother, it only made it worse to me that he didnt have the courtesy of asking if we would pass up on where we wanted to sit to allow his later boarding brother to sit next to him.....
Before everyone was boarded, I saw the FA get the captain out of the flight deck and they were discussing the guy now in row 4. I really thought they were going to remove him....
