To return to the OP's initial questions, I would also suggest that anyone contemplating the European delivery program work with a dealer and salesperson who are familiar with European delivery and are not reluctant to participate in such sales.

Also BTW, the dealer makes a profit on European delivery; they should treat you as if you had purchased a car from their lot, through a trade with another dealer on your behalf, or as a special order for delivery at your dealership.
