Beyond that load some music/videos on a tablet or phone & pack a book. To keep the teenager entertained you can buy wifi access for a few bucks.

No reason in my mind to book a connection.
There's no real need to either purchase wifi or load entertainment in advance. DL Studio (streaming for free, but it helps to download the current app in advance) offers a decent number of movie and other choices.
