It's highly doubtful they'll use these on routes they're currently already selling out of or nearly selling out J on. I'm thinking JNB/SYD. Or they'll adjust seasonally, where they high season gets the 37J class, and the low season gets the 28J class.
Highly doubtful DL is going to put these on routes that will leave at least 5-9 people wanting to buy D1 outright looking for alternative dates/carriers.
For the most part there is so much TPAC capacity DL doesn't have the room to push fares up very much, even if they reduce J capacity by 9 on the moded 777's.
Totally agree that this will likely end a lot of Non-Rev parties though.
I don't think the routes will change substantially. JNB & SYD will have to remain on the 777 as it's the only airplane DL has which can fly these ultra-long haul routes.
re nonrevs, if DL goes to a Y to W, W to J upgrade policy for GUCs as many around here suspect, there could be plenty of seats open
