There is a good reason the father was so calm. He knew he was trying to scam them.
How do you know about the validity of the tickets? Are you a DL employee with access to the ticket numbers?
What if they checked in for the 18 year old son and even presented his BP at boarding?
The system failed multiple times in stopping exactly this. I don't think they "intentionally" planned this. I also don't think the father was particularly calm - he didn't touch anyone, but his voice did raise at times, he did gesticulate, he spoke to people (even those on his side) without even a thank you...he seemed to be someone who knew how to generally remain calm and patient but was getting frustrated with multiple agents and police on board...
