My sister got a quote of $3293.86 for PHL-HKT-PHL for 12/25-1/10 using Qatar.

That sounded good, but not amazing as Air Canada offers flights around $3500-$4000 for similar dates.

Then I checked the Qatar site, and the total is well over $5000. They havea 15% off for Mastercard, but that would still be nowhere near the first quote.

The thing is, with that first quote the number looked legit, not some round number $3000 that I would expect from a scammer. I suppose they price in miles, then add fuel/taxes.

The BBB in California has both positive and negative, but nothing about getting bumped off due to a mileage ticket.
