Staying here now.
Booked the base room due to work policy. Asked about a cash upgrade at checkin and was offered HK$400 for a Club room with no view - took it.
Room is slightly small but sufficient for a one night stay.
Club so far appears underwhelming. The water is 'cheap' (i.e. no Perrier / San Pellegrino) and the scones for afternoon tea taste a bit eggy / off.
Also, my colleague was allowed to sit but any consumption at happy hour would incur a charge. Apparently the HK$400 only covers myself - I would have expected to be allowed a guest with that so am not impressed.
My friends did warn me this hotel is awful and berated me for choosing it...
Also to add, I am Gold and my colleague has nothing and the wifi login page is telling him he has to pay for internet access ! (2 hours - HK$40 / 24 hours - HK$115).
