757 is a great plane and its quite sad they got rid of the rest of the fleet...
I still don't know whether that's a huge deal. Unlike PMCO's 757 routes, there are very few PMUA domestic 757 routes that the 739 can't handle. For the higher traffic people mover routes from PMUA hubs, the 739 gets the job done at pretty much the same seat count (with slimlines, but still). PMUA never sent their 757s across the Atlantic, and as I understand it, the Pratt-powered 752 doesn't really have the legs for it anyway, so it's not like we're missing out on much.
With that said, I was sad to see them go too for sentimental reasons, and I made sure to book one last flight on the PMUA domestic 752 before they went. Nice to see they're keeping them for p.s. (and Hawaii and TATL) for a little while longer, as those are the routes where there really isn't anything else UA could get in a reasonable amount of time to replace them with.
