Nope, the UK doesn't allow electronics larger than a smartphone in the cabin from Egypt, so if you fly BA CAI-LHR you will be checking in your tablets and laptops in your checked baggage.

I flew CAI-DOH-LHR-JFK recently, connecting from BA to AA at LHR. AA at LHR T3 wouldn't issue a BP until someone from CBP/DHS had come to talk to me and given them the ok that I could travel. Once I got to JFK I was then sent to secondary, where I had to wait for more than an hour for someone from the Tactical Terrorism Response Team to turn up from another terminal and question me, which took about 2 minutes.
