I think this move was in regards to saving weight over the cloth seating. I can understand that from a business move.... With that said, I'd be willing to pay a little more to fly on a flight with traditional cloth seating. Maybe re-equip Economy + with better seats? These current ones on transcon flights are terrible on my back
Airbus? 737s? new 772/763 interiors? The issues are def. for each.

I personally like the leather over cloth, but the seats themselves are not good, particularly the Recardo Airbus seats. See consensus view: Update on our Airbus Reconfigurations (Seats, Entertainment, Channel 9, etc.)

I will simply not book the United Airbus on a flight over about an hour, If that is the A/C, United is off my purchasing radar.
