In my opinion, if you don't have a pressing reason to book through AA, I'd go directly through IB... at a minimum, you wouldn't then end up going through the circular "we can't help you, we don't have their res booking number, you need to call them, blah blah blah" routine so many of us have encountered when trying to do the simplest things such as getting J seat assignments.
