these articles really annoy me, and i think it's because they always involve a person(s) who were super passive, polite, and easy to string along instead of being like Dr. Dao and standing up to poor customer service. i realize the vast majority are unsophisticated consumers but at least try self help. use the free wifi and figure out your rights. ask the agents if you can go to fll pbi or whatever instead. be a pain in the a## to the agents and demand they put you on the aa nonstop or send you via somewhere else. it seems in canada self help is doing nothing, following along, absorbing a loss, then going to the media after the fact and have gabor intervene for you.

and $300 for an airport hotel becuase they were too tired. wow. that was such a stupid risk they put themselves in, not to mention you can get hotels in mia area for no more than $100. fortunately that worked out.

but they do deserve compensation for their losses (1x hotel in keyes, 1x hotel at airport, cash for lost half day) however. but i think this could have been avoided although the cbc would have to find some other fluff piece like that video of a chihuahua on a skateboard.
