All the airlines devalue at one point or another. I see this kind of post about every airline card there is (at one time or another)!
The grass is not greener over the hill for very long. As the blog you linked pointed out, what Delta just did was to essentially copy what United did a couple years ago (make awards exclusively on partner flights more expensive than awards that include its own metal).
One way to look at it is that if the miles needed for awards increase, you need
even more miles, so you need the card
even more.
