You are missing everything. As others have mentioned, this Courtyard is just like any other Courtyard on the mainland. There's no view, there's no beach, there's no nice pool, there's nowhere to walk, there's no nice restaurants, there's no lobby bar to chill out & watch the sunset or listen to the guitar player...all things you can do at Wailea. (you can walk over to the other resorts @ Wailea if you don't find everything you want at the Marriott).
We stayed there one night, once...we won't again. I guess if your vacation is a very active one where you are driving to the volcano and Hana and the various beaches, and you don't care about the resort or location, you can save some money that way. But for us, it doesn't feel like paradise.
