When asking for an exception to a rule, it's best not to do so while just assuming it iwll be granted, as you are only setting yourself up for disappointment.
In general, I agree. The point here though is the difference between a mother traveling with her little kids Vs a normal case of adult guesting. In the case of the mother, even if she is entitled to use the lounge, she
cannot use this entitlement unless her kids are let in as well. Not the case with adult guests. So my point is that she has no option but to pay for lounge access she is normally entitled to anyway. This applies to a very small number of very specific cases of mother traveling with very young children and she has lounge access and they do not.
I just think it would be good customer service for an airline that is working to build a reputation as a family-friendly airline to recognise this.
