Maybe because they know those metal cards all over some kind of rental insurance so they won't let you use it. That way you have to fall back on a non-premium credit card and buy their insurance! Maybe if you say.. oh I don't have another card.. let me just go check the other company next door to see if they will take the metal card... and then magically there are other ways to read your card!
