This Wikipost is intended to discuss cash upgrades on QR flights. Historically, QR did not offer this option particularly frequently, but in recent years this has changed and there are now a number of options for upgrading to the next cabin with your hard earned cash.
Now first, the rules this thread does not deal with Qmiles or Qpoints as an option for upgrading. A thread on the use of Qpoints and Qmiles already exists at the link below for any questions relating to this way of upgrading, please visit the thread:

Most importantly, this is an interactive thread and requires you to contribute to keep it alive. Its very simple - If you receive a Special Upgrade Offer via email, please share it with us! This helps your fellow FTers because:
1) It tells them whether or not a fellow FTer has received an SUO on the route they are flying on;
2) It tells them a good ballpark price for a SUO if they are flying the same route as you;
3) It tells them when (historically) to expect an SUO if it is ever going to arrive;
4) It gives a basis for comparison against a reprice of fare.
So when you receive an SUO, all you have to do is post with the following information (copy and paste):
The flight number and route you received the offer for:
The full routing for the leg of the flight:
The cabin the offer is for upgrading to:
The cash cost, including currency:
How far in advance you received the offer:
It would also be a big help if you could update the wiki with the cost and date. If you have been a member for less than 90 days, please post asking someone to update the thread as it will take some time.
