Question on Upgrade vs Note in Profile

Avis Preferred Plus member here. I have a question on upgrades that are assigned when you have a note in your profile. As I usually travel alone for business travel and have an aversion to larger vehicles, I have a note in my file that requests no minivans or SUVs. On probably 90% of my recent rentals (mostly in Denver and Orlando), I have been upgraded to an SUV or minivan and have to go into the Preferred Counter to exchange. The agent's response is usually the agent's response is that the computer assigns the car and the have no control. So my question is why bother having the note in my profile if they aren't goiyng to honor this? Is it too much to ask a "busy" station to review this? It is more of an inconvenience to have to constantly go in to have them exchange the vehicle (and yes, I have the app and it usually will only show similar SUVs for an exchange) but when you fight has been delayed and you just want to get your car and drive to the hotel, is there any other option? I called customer service after my last experience and they were no help. But I was wondering if anyone else has had any luck in dealing with anything like this. Thanks!
