I would politely disagree. Having champagne at home -- perhaps my home is less luxurious than those of many posters here -- on Friday evening after a hard week in the office is not the same experience as having champagne, say in a suite at the Ritz Paris (preferably one overlooking place Vendome), whilst travelling and celebrating a special occasion.
That's why hotels get away with charging 200%+ more. It's the experience and the context; not the product.
But of course I personally don't see that the Valley Wing is that special.
