If TG is tagging your bags all the way to KUL then the MH allowance is irrelevant. The only slight downside is the MH ground staff probably won't recognize your TG/*A priority tags.
In any case, OW Sapphire members get 15kg extra, though the 2 piece limit still applies (45kg across 2 bags). And yes, the MH staff are usually quite aware of the OW benefits.
