I found the whole experience average and I remain puzzled why this particular hotel and this wing gets so much attention. But I think Singapore has the personality of the post office (DMV?) so I might be a bit jaded. Also, the location leaves much to be desired if you are traveling for business.
Thanks

We enjoyed our stay at the Shangri-La Singapore : Valley Wing when we stayed with them in July 2015. We received wonderful/high standards of service, a beautiful large room on the 17th floor, these rooms/suites which are located on this particular floor offer all balconies as far we can tell, so ours wasn't the only room which has a large balcony with a table and two chairs overlooking the Garden Wing and the pool of the hotel, we found it memorable and would want [hopefully] to stay again with them if possible in our future when visiting beautiful Singapore.
The large room, personalized service standards, the breakfast each morning at the Summit Room plus a resort-like feel and location actually added to the feeling of being in a gorgeous urban resort oasis in our opinion. We're glad that we could stay with them, this was our 2nd Shangri-La as we've also stayed at their Rasa Sayang resort in Penang a few days earlier which we also enjoyed very much which also had their special wing, the Rasa Wing which felt like the Valley Wing, very special indeed.
Cheers & Safe Travels. ^
