Quite a memory!
For my wife's 22nd birthday, I flew her from Denver to Colorado Springs (about 10 minutes in the air) for a surprise weekend at the Broadmoor. She didn't understand why she couldn't bring loose shoes and dresses in the car until we were in sight of the airport.
The room was awesome. Dinner was excellent. There was an old pub on the property that had been dismantled in England and reconstructed on-site. We spent a long evening there after dinner.
The travel agent asked if I wanted a limo to meet us. I assumed it would be a club-sized van with a teen driver. Instead there was a uniformed driver holding a sign with my name. He led us to a stretch caddy waiting at the door.
28 years later, my wife still talks about that weekend.
Not to be missed in my opinion.
