What do you think a phone representative is going to say? They didn't make the changes.
It's not about what the phone representative says. It's a volume of complaints (preferably in writing to customer service departments) that can affect change. If enough loyal customers are making a stink... Look at what happened with Delta last year and their companion upgrade policies.
