I've been Surugaya twice and their unagi was very good and traditional.
Good thing is you don't wait in line but get the ticket with numbers for waiting and they can tell you when to come back. You can explore the area for a while.

Thanks. I'm reading that there are two places that are worth checking (Kawatoyo and Surugaya). Not sure which is better. Any idea?
Do you happen to know if they are busy on weekdays? How long are the lines? What would be the best time to go? What would you recommend getting? And how do I get a taxi on the way back?
