Let's hope that GUCs and upgrades with miles from reasonable fares apply to the KE intraAsia flights. That was part of what made the original NW/KLM JV attractive to elites. Being able to upgrade on the interport flights beyond NRT similarly made it attractive for some of us to take that connection and not book on Asian carriers.
