Lefly you should inform them A.S.A.P. and request wheelchair assistance. This has a number of advantages for both you and your family. You will be met at the aircraft door by a wheelchair and then all of you will transfer by a golf-cart to the lounge. This usually means that you do not go through security but straight to the lounge. The reverse happens on departure. It is a very easy way to negotiate the transfer hurdles when you are even slightly handicapped. Your family will escort you almost the entire way. The only exception being the actual boarding/de-boarding procss at remote gates. Which I doubt will happen for DOH-BKK!
Some, but not all, is part of the standard F transfer service but altogether you will have the easiest and hopefully most comfortable transfer.
