Zinio for Libraries

I would love to be able to use Zinio for Libraries to read emagazines on when travelling, but even though I have the app installed on my iPad and Android phone, have a login username/password set up (which are different from my local library website's login/pw), and have used the app in the past, I never seem to be able to log in to check out new magazines.

It's very frustrating. I even took my laptop computer, iPad, and phone over to the library a couple of weeks ago, sat down next to the tech librarian, and went through making sure I could log in and check out magazines using all three. Now two weeks later, I can't log in. Again.

I can see I'm not alone in this, because the iPad and Android apps both have a lot of low ratings related to login problems, but I don't think it's an app problem per se but rather a server problem (i.e., with RBDigital.com, which provides the Zinio for Libraries interface), because I can't even log in via the computer.

I have emailed via help/support links but not received any reply. Google searches lead almost exclusively to Zinio's own fairly useless "how to" PDF. Some other forum comments suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app, which does not solve the problem, and does not pertain to why logging in via a computer doesn't work.

Does anyone have consistent success logging into Zinio for Libraries? Or is it just not ready for prime time? If so, that's very disappointing. Lots of libraries are paying subscription fees to access emagazines to their members, but Zinio/RBDigital doesn't seem to care if the service works or not.

(BTW I did search this forum before posting but only found references to the commercial Zinio app, those at least a few years old, and no mentions specifically of Zinio for Libraries).
