When checking in, I was always showing my Melia Rewards card, asking them to add it to my account. So most of the time I was getting points. Once points didn't post and had to write a message to MeliaRewards' Customer Service team asking them to add points manually. They did it very quickly. So as you can see in my experience it is possible to get MeliaRewards points even when booking via corporate travel agency. Although I have to say that it was back in 2015 so maybe the rules changed since...
Another thing is on-line check-in: one can't use it unless the stay was booked via official Melia channel - website (also potentially via phone, but not too sure about this).
So all in all, I suggest you getting in touch with customer service (via the web form on the website) and they should sort out the points issue. Phone agents can be a bit brisk and not always 100% consistent.
the thing is that I basically did that already!
whenever I get to the hotel, I check if they have my number registered, and whenever the points were not credited, I did the request through the website and it worked well... until august 2016! since then, the points are not credited and when I request them via the website form, the answer is always that I did the booking via Expedia and thus cannot earn any point...
that's why I was asking here
I sent a request to the customer service to get an explanation about this policy, let's see what happens...
