I confirm that Schwab still pulls Equifax for credit check. There is no need to request ATM card; they order one automatically once you fund the checking account.
Another interesting feature, the checking account is automatically enrolled in overdraft protection against the cash in the brokerage account. And apparently there are no overdraft fees in this case.
On enrollment this month it took exactly one week from signing up to receiving the card in the mail.
