I get it though - not nice that they made you stay another day. I can also understand the frustration. In some ways, I think this is Delta succeeding at being a carrier. I am never mad when my F9 flights are delayed - I expect it and build it into my schedule.

But let delta be delayed.....
It was actually a pretty close call. Chinese New Year in Hawaii is about the biggest hotel day of the year!

It turns out, one other Delta flight was cancelled. Not sure which one, but when we checked in to today's flight, the ticket agent asked if we were on the cancelled flight yesterday. I said no, just delayed 18 hours and so we made Plan B. He said yesterday was a bad day.
HNL does not strike me as an airport that could handle IROPS very well.
