I get it though - not nice that they made you stay another day. I can also understand the frustration. In some ways, I think this is Delta succeeding at being a carrier. I am never mad when my F9 flights are delayed - I expect it and build it into my schedule.
But let delta be delayed.....
That's something I haven't consciously thought about. When I (rarely) fly LCCs like Allegiant or EasyJet, I pad a couple hours after my arrival for anticipated delays. On Delta, sometimes I have somewhere to be an hour after arrival.
