Calling will not change the situation -- UA will not commit in advance to protection. BUT generally if sometime goes wrong, UA will attempt to address the issue but no guarantees and if there are other issues like WX, you will be at the bottom of the list

No possible way to answer, can it change maybe. maybe no. Once you get under 3 months the chances decrease significant but still isn't zero. There are a lot of changes going on with the 772 fleet and decision may be need closer to flight time. And there is irrops, when al bets are off.
So you are more likely than not on that aircraft but lie-flat is not the standard service for mid-cons.

None of the Hawaii 772 versions ie V4, V5 or V6 are the Polaris seat or will get Polaris service levels on mid-cons.
