I'm sure the service will be fine. It looks like a very nice guest house, and not a luxury hotel.
Think I'll hold out for the Rosewood.
I always thought that Adrian Zecha's new concept would confuse his Aman devotees, as most expect luxury from him, whereas Azerai is, as you say, good basic stuff. It is not meant to be a luxury hotel - the idea was modelled on the old Serai 3-star in Bali - simple, basic but full of quality.
