The airport taxi mafia at PVR is particularly bad. A couple of years ago, they were charging $10 to go to hotels in the Marina, which is essentially walking distance (maybe 1 KM tops) if you don't have luggage to carry. Now that gas prices are rising by the removal of govt. price controls, who knows how bad that gouge is.
