I'm finally using my AA 140K mile award in May. My itinerary is JFK-LAX-HKG-AKL-HKG-SFO-JFK. All legs are in F except to/from AKL which has no F class.

I'm currently booked through LAX and SFO (on AA) because there is no F availability out of and into JFK on CX. Is there a chance CX out of and into JFK will become available closer to my departure on May 17?

On the way to AKL I have a 7 hour layover in HKG. I'm hoping to try out the cabanas. Will I be able to do this even though my flight to AKL is in Biz class?

Any advice re seat selection on the A340-300 to/from AKL?
