No. Two issues. Upgrade eligible does not have any relevance for using GPUs. Second issue, you need LH or NH flight numbers to upgrade. You will have to call UA and have them change and re-ticket to get away from the UA codeshares.
I just called UA and the 1K desk agent immediately knew what I was talking about. I had to spend about 10 minutes on hold while she worked with her supervisor to reassign a NH flight number, but it was done without any handholding or pain. ^
I was able to use the
partner GPU request url with no problem. ^ It came back saying no space available
, so I will have to continue to seek space over the next few weeks.
