Wow aren't you guys overreacting? ALL hotels have troubles on opening day, opening week and opening month. Even Four Seasons hotels have significant issues at opening. Plus this is Vegas! I don't know of any upscale chain hotel in Vegas that is a good representation of the chain.
I recall when the W in Westwood opened long ago. It was very chaotic, overly trendy and people complained. Later it became and still is one of the best W's in the world for Platinum recognition. So give this hotel some time to get their act together.

I couldn't agree more.
First, Dec. 1 was opening day as a W. Anyone expecting top drawer W service and experience in even the first few months is unwise.
Second, it's Vegas. Even the FS and MO here are completely underwhelming for their brands, so no one should expect a top drawer W here, either.
Third, being surprised by partying and loud noise at this W is hilarious. It's a W, where scene and parties are part of the culture, and it's Vegas...where scene and parties go wildly overboard.
Finally, the W and SLS here are going to need to get it together eventually if they want to attract SPG loyalty stays here despite being on the wrong end of the Strip. But you gotta give them time.
