I have to give some kudos to UNITED for cancelling and refunding my Brother In-Laws tickets (he and his wife) after he was admitted to the hospital with an abdominal aortic aneurysm.

He has since been operated on and is going to make a full recovery but the MDs feel he should not travel for a while and wrote a letter stating that.

UNITED surprised me in how easy the entire transaction was and the refund hit my Brother In-Laws credit card the following day.

They even refunded his E+ purchase which I did not even think to ask about when I called UNITED.

As much as I do not hold a high regard for UNITED, I am pleasantly surprised how they handled this situation.
