If not, and if you dare, you can walk the 3 mins down the road from Marriott to Pegasus, once you get into town. They have a Scotiabank ATM on the premises.

There is an ATM that only accepts MasterCard branded ATM cards and, apparently, only ones linked to the owner Guyanese bank. My point was that this leaves most people without cash (again, no bank). So I had to negotiate a taxi ride based on an
expectation that I would be able to locate a functional ATM.
The problem is apparently known, at least in the sense that there have been at least two newspaper articles about it.
