Not only will you deny people who might have had 18 out of 20 years of Gold (or Diamond) but because of whatever circumstance unable to meet the requirement, despite potentially far more loyalty and spend than someone who only spot on requalified gold for 10 years in a row. Gold is really easy to reach (and has gotten easier).
I agree. Maybe having an alternative point threshold of e.g. 2.000.000 points would solve that issue.
Not sure why SAS is so hesitant in creating such a perk. If not for the fact that if you don't fly them it is worthless. Very few people will make it in their first 10 years of flying. But anyway, this is Scandinavia, so they'll probably change their mind after some feminist flames them for discriminating women that are on parental leave and therefor can't fly for a year, or something similar.
SK will bring that status freeze so let's see how this will be incorporated with the Gold Lifetime.
