That's insane. I've taken the liberty to copy this to the premium deals thread.
To be fair CX doesn't publish its cheapest fares to ITA or wherever google flights gets its data from. But booking directly with CX website still sees a fare of $70k.
The AA flight also nets you 20 more club points and 4236 more Asia miles.
No wonder Cathay is having problems
