I'm looking at a trip with a >24 hour stopover in DOH. Fare rules allow it. It's my preference due to flight durations and flight times.

Is it advantageous to book the hotel through QR? To get visa fees waived? Free airport transfers? Competitive hotel rates? Avoid the US$200.00 stopover fee that applies to my fare? Some other reason?

I used https://discoverqatar.qatarairways.com/ and was not immediately blown away by the prices or any obvious statement of bonus benefits. QR's STPC benefits are lovely (free transfer, free visa) but do not apply to me since a shorter connection is available and I booked the longer stop for my own convenience.

Read the lengthy STPC thread , but found nothing obviously on point here. That's truly about STPC rather than passenger choice of stopover.
