Theoretically, it knows how many points you will get when you enter the data required. In practice, however, there are a number of instances where it gives out the wrong results.

Earlier on, we discussed some of these cases. For instance, it doesn't know anything about codeshares, so if ticket and metal are not on the same airline, the calculator is of no help. Flying HEL-LHR, you get a different number of points flying AY ticket/AY metal and AY ticket/BA metal but there's no way of finding this out by using the calculator.

Another problem I just noted today when searching for super-cheapo AB tickets to TXL: AB apparently has ticket types just like AY. Those ticket types are called JustFly, EconomyLight, EconomyClassic and EconomyFlex. Starting 01AUG16, AY+ awards points for European flights according to these ticket types. But the calculator doesn't recognize them and if you enter the booking class, the result is false. I'm looking at an EconomyLight booking, which according to the table should give 25% of the kms flown, but the calculator says 0 points for Z class and doesn't recognize E class at all.

It also recognizes destinations where AY only flies leisure flights. The calculator says 4000/8000/16000 points for HEL-POP, but in reality all you should get is 4000 points for HEL-POP and 0 points for POP-HEL. I cannot confirm what the real earnings here are. It also recognizes HAV, where AY doesn't fly anymore.

I was hoping we could gather all known problems here in this thread in the hope of someone at AY seeing them and fixing them. Might be a long shot, but who knows...
