Just returned from 5 night stay at the Wynn. Upgraded room was the top floor, panoramic view, standard room. I felt that because we had a long stay, we did not receive a better upgrade. The hotel was empty until Thurs., when a couple large meeting groups checked in. If we were just staying until Thurs. versus leaving Fri., we would have been upgraded to a suite. I heard others at check-in, getting upgraded, and the agent assured us we were upgraded. Since we had 3 rooms in our reservation, the other 2 were supposed to be on the 59th floor, but needed to be together, so they landed on 28th floor, with much poorer views. I was going to try the "$20 thing", but felt that we were supposed to be upgraded anyway. Either way, I liked our room. The Encore which is offered on FHR for a bit more money, may be a better choice for an upgraded room. It is a less busy property versus the Wynn. Most meeting group's attendees won't spend the extra money to stay in the Encore. So your chances for an upgrade are better.
Received all the usual benefits. It should be noted that the Jardin restaurant, serves a brunch menu on Fri., Sat., and Sun. mornings. So if you get up late or don't want breakfast foods, there are plenty of lunch items on the menu. I had a shrimp po'boy that was very tasty. We found that the $80 credit did cover the tip, as the only time a room charge was posted was when the total was over $80 including tip.
